4. Cookies and similar technologies

4.1. What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file stored on your device (computer, tablet, smartphone) when you visit a website. It enables the site to recognise the device concerned for a limited period of validity and to remember certain information relating to your browsing.

4.2. Types of cookies used on the Site

On the Site, we may use in particular the following categories of cookies:

  • Strictly necessary cookies: essential for the operation of the Site and the online shop (for example, cart management, session authentication, form security).
  • Functional cookies: enable us to remember your preferences (language, display settings) and improve your user experience.
  • Audience measurement cookies: used to compile anonymised or pseudonymised traffic statistics (most visited pages, browsing paths, etc.) in order to improve the Site.

Depending on how your browser is configured, some cookies may require your consent. You can change your browser settings at any time to accept or refuse cookies, or to be informed when they are installed. However, refusing certain strictly necessary cookies may impair the functioning of the Site or certain features (for example cart management).

4.3. Cookie settings

Most browsers allow you to manage your cookie preferences. In general, you can configure your browser to:

  • accept all cookies;
  • refuse all cookies;
  • accept certain cookies depending on their origin;
  • delete cookies already stored on your device.

Details on managing cookies are described in your browser’s help menu.

5. Sharing your personal data

We share your personal data only with:

  • technical service providers (Site host, maintenance provider, backup solutions, newsletter delivery tools);
  • payment service providers, who process your online payments securely. In this context, certain payment data is transmitted to them;
  • audience measurement or statistical analysis providers, insofar as necessary to obtain anonymised or pseudonymised traffic statistics;
  • external advisers (for example legal or accounting advisers) where necessary to protect our legitimate interests and in accordance with applicable confidentiality rules;
  • public authorities or bodies where the law requires us to do so, or to assert our rights, respond to legal proceedings or protect our legitimate interests.

These providers generally act as processors within the meaning of the applicable legislation, on the basis of contracts that strictly govern the use of your personal data.

6. International data transfers

Some of the personal data we process may be hosted or accessible outside Switzerland and the European Economic Area (EEA), for example where our technical service providers use servers located in other countries.

In such cases, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place, such as:

  • an adequacy decision by the European Commission or the Swiss Federal Council recognising an adequate level of protection in the country concerned; or
  • the conclusion of standard contractual clauses and, where appropriate, additional measures to ensure a level of protection that is essentially equivalent to that provided by the GDPR and/or applicable Swiss law.

7. Retention periods

We retain your personal data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, subject to longer periods required by law. By way of indication:

  • Order and billing data: retained for as long as necessary to perform the contract, then archived for the duration of the applicable statutory limitation period (for example, accounting and tax obligations).
  • Customer account data: retained for as long as the account is active, then deleted or anonymised within a reasonable period after the account is closed, unless there is a legal obligation to retain it.
  • Newsletter data: retained for as long as you remain subscribed to the newsletter and until you unsubscribe. In the event of unsubscription, we may keep proof of your request for a limited period in order to demonstrate compliance with your rights.
  • Contact data: retained for the time necessary to process your request, then deleted or anonymised, unless it needs to be included in another processing operation (for example, contractual follow-up).
  • Browsing data and cookies: retained for periods generally ranging from a few minutes to thirteen months, depending on the nature of the cookie and the legal requirements or applicable recommendations.

8. Your rights

In accordance with applicable legislation (in particular Swiss law and, where applicable, the General Data Protection Regulation – GDPR), you have the following rights over your personal data:

  • right of access: obtain confirmation that data concerning you is being processed and, where appropriate, receive a copy of it;
  • right to rectification: request the correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”): request the deletion of your data in certain circumstances (for example when the data is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, or when you withdraw your consent);
  • right to restriction of processing: request temporary suspension of the processing of your data in certain situations;
  • right to object: object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to certain processing operations based on legitimate interest, as well as to the use of your data for direct marketing purposes;
  • right to data portability: where processing is based on your consent or on a contract and carried out by automated means, obtain the data you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, or request that it be transmitted to another controller where technically feasible;
  • right to withdraw your consent at any time where processing is based on that consent (for example, for the newsletter).

To exercise these rights, you can contact us using the contact details set out in section 1 above.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority (for example, the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner in Switzerland, or the data protection authority of your country of residence within the EEA).

9. Data security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against loss, unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or destruction.

However, no system is completely secure. Using the Internet always involves a certain level of residual risk, which you accept by using the Site.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, in particular to take into account changes in applicable legislation, our practices or the features of the Site.

The version in force is the one published on the Site at the date of your visit. We invite you to consult this page regularly to be informed of any updates.
