Yves Ruhlmann

Biography of Yves Ruhlmann

Yves Ruhlmann is a Franco-Swiss composer and pianist, born on 9 January 1983. His musical journey is marked by a deep quest for meaning and connection through music, which he sees not only as an art, but also as a tool for accessing consciousness and inner awakening.

Training and influences

Yves Ruhlmann received professional training in composition, enriched by his time in prestigious institutions such as the Accademia Chigiana in Siena, the Conservatorio Licinio Refice in Italy, and the Conservatoire National Supérieur in Lyon. His curious and self-taught mind led him to explore various aspects of musical composition, integrating mathematical and symbolic concepts into his research. In Italy, particularly at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena under the guidance of Luis Bacalov and during his stay at the Villa Medici, he was recognised and distinguished for his merits.

Works and artistic contributions

Yves Ruhlmann began composing orchestral works in 2003. In 2008, a decisive turning point in his career occurred after a series of “blazing inspirations” that radically transformed his perception of musical language. Since then, he has continuously deepened this new understanding, creating works that push the boundaries of traditional music while honouring its roots. After 15 years of mathematical and symbolic research, he developed the concepts of Canticle Code Music and Symphonic Trance Music. These works are designed to awaken a state of trance in the listener, fostering a greater awareness and perception of the world. This immersive and transformative musical approach touches the body, the mind and consciousness alike. The first Symphonic Trance work by Ruhlmann, entitled Peace and Love, was composed in 2022. This 45-minute symphony is a true initiation, intended to guide the listener on a deep inner journey. For this work, choral parts were recorded in Sofia in 2022, thereby enriching his catalogue of Symphonic Trance compositions. In 2024, Yves Ruhlmann composed, recorded and conducted the Love and Gratitude Symphony with the Sofia Orchestra. This work for choir and orchestra goes beyond mere musical composition to become a powerful tool for energetic transformation, designed to awaken and elevate the consciousness of its listeners. Dedicated to the work of Dr Masaru Emoto, this symphony will be presented in Japan at the World Water Festival, bringing together more than 10,000 spectators in open air and 100,000 online participants around the world. He also tours with Trio Luname, an ensemble that performs his compositions, with himself at the piano, thus demonstrating his commitment to sharing his music in a living and interactive way with the audience. Since 2024, he has also been meeting his audience through intimate medicine-song concerts, where the voice, accompanied on the piano, becomes the primary vehicle for inner transformation. Yves Ruhlmann founded Symphoniya® in 2023, creating this universe to bring his vision of music as a tool for consciousness into reality. Symphoniya® explores the interactions between music, the body, the heart and the mind, offering musical experiences that transcend ordinary reality. Through Symphoniya®, Ruhlmann also aims to train new practitioners and composers specialising in Symphonic Trance Music, Canticle Code Music and consciousness, thereby strengthening his innovative approach to music as a vehicle for personal and collective transformation.
