I Am Love is an affirmation before it is a title — a statement held in the first person, carried by an orchestral and choral architecture where the voice says what exceeds words. The third panel of the triptych of Love, after Peace and Love and Love and Gratitude, the work is its culmination : Love is affirmed here as what one is.
Composed by Yves Ruhlmann according to the principles of Trance Symphonic Music, it is tuned in The Living Scale and at 432 Hz. The choir stands at its centre, and the voice becomes the very subject of the music. The work addresses what is universal in whoever listens to it — that part which recognises the words it hears.
I Am Love closes the triptych of Love, opened in 2022 with Peace and Love — the first Trance Symphonic work of the catalogue — and continued in 2024 with Love and Gratitude. The first two name Love in what binds it ; this one affirms it in the first person.
The choir holds the centre of the work. Forty choristers of the Sofia Session Orchestra & Choir, recorded in Sofia, carry Love in a collective voice : here, the singing is the subject, and the orchestra unfolds around it the symmetrical architecture proper to Trance Symphonic Music, tuned according to The Living Scale and at 432 Hz.
The work unfolds over nearly seventeen minutes. It also exists in its separate voices — choir, strings, winds, percussion — which let one hear how the edifice is built, stratum by stratum. This clarity of craft belongs to it as much as its climate : I Am Love shows its construction at the same time as it makes it heard.
I Am Love has known an unprecedented edition — Ego Amor, Alleluia (2026) — where the choir gives way to the soprano Sofia Rauss, on Latin words.
