Principle: a piano music improvised for one person, and dedicated to them
Series: more than ninety Resonances, since May 2016
Form: “Résonance n° 93 pour Julie — Piano en Résonance”

The principle holds in one sentence: I enter into resonance with a person, I listen to them, and I improvise for them a music that is dedicated to them.
Nothing to prepare, nothing to know: presence is enough, and it is presence that makes the music.
Each work born of this listening is a Resonance. It carries a number in a continuous series begun in May 2016, and the first name of the person to whom it is dedicated. It enters the catalogue on the same footing as every other work.
A Resonance is always improvised: nothing is written in advance. It is born live during the meeting — in a private session as in a collective meeting — and is then mixed and mastered.
The dedicatee is not always a person: two Resonances from 2018 are dedicated to a full moon. Some carry a title, others do not.
By video call, offered, by registration. I listen to each person present and let a music dedicated to them be born at the piano, live.
From time to time, a meeting by video call brings several people together. I listen to each one, I enter into resonance, and I improvise at the piano, live, a music dedicated to them.
The meeting is offered, and the Resonance born there is offered. Only the recording, for those who wish to keep it, is proposed afterwards. After 7 October, the next meetings are planned for Monday 2 November and Thursday 3 December 2026, at 8:00 pm. Dates are announced here and in The Symphoniya Letter.
Your Resonance was born during a meeting and you wish to keep it: the mixed and mastered recording, in CD quality (WAV 16-bit / 44.1 kHz), from 44 CHF / 44 €.
A meeting by video call for you alone, or for the person of your choosing, and the work born there — from 144 CHF / 144 €.
Looking forward to resonating together,
Yves Ruhlmann
