What is it possible to create with Yves Ruhlmann and Symphoniya?
Drawing inspiration from an emotion, a story, a plot: every composer does that. What Yves Ruhlmann does is of another order. Twenty-five years of craft and a long research into the genesis of musical language allow him to capture the deep quintessence of what or whom the work is dedicated to — and then to seal it into the music through architectural and numerical signatures. The subject does not inspire the work: it signs it. It is this signature that separates occasional music from the work in its full sense.
It operates on two levels.
In substance — the composition can meet an identity, a story, an intention, a trajectory: a person, a house, a company, a place, an event, a transformation, an artistic or symbolic material.
In the architecture — this language draws on some twenty years of research into the genesis of musical language: numbers, their encoding, their translation into musical architecture, the relationships between numbers, sounds, forms and colours. Part of the project’s material can thus enter the very construction of the work, and not only its intention.
Calling oneself a composer is within everyone’s reach today. Holding substance and form together — the scholarly mastery of writing and a language that carries meaning — is an alchemy that very few bring about. That is where excellence lies, and that is where Yves Ruhlmann works from: about twenty-five years of craft, an education of excellence in major European institutions, real experience of music applied to the image — including the original scores of two auteur feature films — and a long research into musical language from which Musique Code Cantique and Transe Symphonic were born.
Transe Symphonic is a major expression of his language; it is not the limit of his craft. Depending on the project, he composes in other forms, with great artistic autonomy or under strong external direction — a composer’s relationship with a director, an artistic director or a producer is part of his experience.
Dedicated creations
A new work that captures the deep quintessence of what or whom it is dedicated to and seals it into a musical signature — for a person, a company, a house, a place, a story, an anniversary, a transmission, a project.
Creation on brief or under artistic direction
Yves also composes from a brief, an intention, an artistic direction, precise constraints and a defined use — his own language is compatible with a genuine production framework.
Transe Symphonic
A Transe Symphonic work can itself be commissioned, when that form is right for the project.
Professional licences
A professional or an organisation can play the existing works within the authorised annual framework. The standard licence covers neither synchronisation, nor adaptation, nor integration into a game.
Companies & major brands
Stories, transmissions, places, anniversaries and company projects: the dedicated sector door.
Video games & interactive worlds
Original composition, musical architecture of a world, arrangement, orchestration, adaptation, work from separate tracks, collaboration with an audio team already in place.
The value of this work is heard before it is explained: three chosen musical proofs. For free and continuous discovery, the Symphoniya Wave radio broadcasts the works with no voice-over breaks and no advertising.
For some projects, an unfinalised orchestrated mock-up can present the heart of the composition before its full development. Carried out as a separate preparatory assignment, it is deducted in full from the complete commission when the latter is concluded within six months. This step is never an obligation; the Dedicated creations page sets out how it works.
The quote depends on the project: the scale of the creation, the production, the performers, the recording, the rights and the uses. Professional licences have their own price list.
