Le Salon d’écoute is the reserved space of the Symphoniya site where the works can be accessed by streaming. The word Salon was chosen for the warmth it carries — an implicit reference to the music salon, that domestic and hospitable place where listening was once shared among a few. The Salon d’écoute welcomes the listener within a setting conceived for listening, and not within a platform that would treat them as one piece of data among others.
Two doors open onto the Salon d’écoute.
The Cercle d’écoute Symphoniya is a monthly gathering, free upon registration. Each month, one work from the catalogue is opened for listening for a few days, accompanied by a word of introduction. It is the most open door of the Salon — a gentle encounter with the works, without prior commitment.
The subscription to the Salon d’écoute gives continuous access to the whole catalogue, by streaming. It is for those who wish to dwell in the Salon over time, without waiting for the monthly gatherings.
The Symphoniya works are not distributed on mainstream platforms. They are listened to in their own right, through acquisition from their page, or by streaming in the Salon d’écoute — and only there, for those who register or subscribe. This reserve is part of their nature — what is precious and universal is encountered within a setting, not within a stream.
The works heard here are read in Works.
