Peace and Love is the first Transe Symphonic work of the catalogue — the one through which the form was born. Its title is its programme : a simple and direct word, held from end to end.

At the heart of the work, a polyphonic mantra — « Paix et Amour » — returns, repeated and varied according to a precise architecture of numbers. The percussion holds the anchoring, the voices carry, the orchestra opens the space. Composed by Yves Ruhlmann, tuned in The Living Scale and at 432 Hz, it sets from the outset what Transe Symphonic will seek in each work : a music in the service of something greater than itself.

Notes on the work

Peace and Love opens the Transe Symphonic catalogue : it is in 2022, with it, that the form takes its name. What the following works will unfold is already in seed here — the architecture of numbers, the polyphonic mantra, the central place of the choir.

Its structure rests on an exact mechanics : the mantra « Paix et Amour » is uttered four hundred and thirty-two times, in one hundred and eight cycles. These numbers govern the duration and the breathing of the work, according to the symmetrical architecture proper to Transe Symphonic. The percussion maintains the anchoring, the celesta and the strings open towards more subtle registers, and the choir — forty voices of the Sofia Session Orchestra & Choir, recorded in Sofia — carries the mantra.

Like the other works, Peace and Love also exists in its separate voices — choir, strings, winds, percussion — tuned in The Living Scale and at 432 Hz.
